1.1. User Content (Audio & Transcripts)

The core functionality of Pavian involves recording voice notes and analyzing them.

• Audio Recordings: When you record a note, we access your device's microphone. This audio is temporarily stored on your device and transmitted securely to our third-party AI processor (OpenAI) for transcription.
• Transcripts & Analysis: We store the text transcripts and the AI-generated analysis (summaries, action items, meeting details) associated with your account.

1.2. Device Permissions

To provide context-aware features, we request access to specific data on your device:

• Contacts: We access your contacts to identify meeting participants and link notes to specific people in your network. This data is used solely for matching purposes within the app.
• Calendar: We access your calendar events to link your voice notes to specific meetings or events you attended.
• Notifications: We use notifications to provide reminders and updates about your notes.

1.3. Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email Address: For authentication and account management.
• Name: To personalize your experience.

2. How We Use Third-Party AI Services

Crucial Notice regarding AI Processing:

Pavian uses OpenAI as a third-party service provider to process your audio recordings and text data.

• Transcription & Analysis: Your audio files and transcripts are sent to OpenAI via their API to generate text, summaries, and insights.
• Data Privacy with OpenAI: We use OpenAI's API services. According to OpenAI's API data usage policies, data sent via the API is not used to train their models.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain the Pavian service.
• To generate accurate transcripts and meeting summaries.
• To link your notes to the correct people (Contacts) and events (Calendar) in your life.
• To authenticate your identity and secure your account.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services. We retain your personal data and content only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. You can delete your data at any time (see "Your Rights").

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with:

• Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party service providers (OpenAI for AI processing, Google Firebase for hosting/auth) solely to perform services on our behalf.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

6. Your Rights and Account Deletion

You have full control over your data:

• Delete Account: You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the app via the Settings menu. This action permanently removes your data from our servers.
• Access & Correction: You may request access to or correction of your personal data by contacting us.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13.
